March is national Lymphedema month. Up to 10 million Americans, and hundreds of millions worldwide, suffer from lymphedema and lymphatic diseases. Lymphedema is a chronic lymphatic disease that results in disfiguring swelling in one or more parts of the body. Cancer treatment survivors, patients that experience severe physical trauma, individuals born with abnormalities in the lymphatic system, certain surgeries or infections can all contribute to this disease. Join us on March 16, 2018 to raise awareness about lymphedema and how early diagnosis, treatment and management can help control the illness.
