Senior Facility Update

Green Hills Senior Health Center

The former Easter Seals facility on Woodmont Boulevard has undergone a transformation. This summer Meridian Health Services Holding Corporation debuted the Green Hills Senior Center offering adult day services, rehabilitation programs and an aquatic fitness center.

Offering a ‘home away from home’ for members and respite for caregivers, the center, which is a medical model adult day health facility, promotes the well being of its members by addressing each participant’s physical, emotional and social needs. A non-residential facility, programs are available to a broad cross-section of individuals in need of day services including seniors who are disabled or cognitively impaired, along with other adults with special needs.

Onsite services include occupational, physical and speech therapy, nutritionally balanced meals and snacks, appropriate activities and daily exercise, assistance with activities of daily living and personal care needs, social interaction and medical supervision. In addition to the wheelchair accessible fitness center, the facility houses an indoor, warm salt water pool and offers salon services.

The Maristone of Franklin

On Sept. 1, the Maristone of Franklin began accepting residents for their luxury assisted living facility in Williamson County. The upscale development features 41 individual suites ranging from 350-square foot studios to two bedroom apartments with a little more than 600 square feet of living space. All suites include three daily meals, 24-hour access to the Soda Shop/Pub and Library/Media Center, weekly housekeeping and laundering services, scheduled local transportation, weekly outings, supervised exercise, wellness and activity programming, and access to trained caregivers. With a motto of “a change in life doesn’t have to mean a change in lifestyle,” the facility places an emphasis on socially engaging environments and even offers access to spa services. Base level monthly fees include day-to-day needs of assisted living residents with incremental service levels available at increased fees for those with a higher level of acuity.

The community also includes the Village Memory Care program — a 13-unit, self-contained, secure residential area designed to meet the needs of those with dementia-related disorders. An on-site Memory Care Coordinator oversees the team of caregivers to assist residents with day-to-day living challenges. Additionally, the MariCare senior day services program, available 7 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays, was launched on Sept. 13.
