The second annual Nashville Comeback Trail 5K, hosted by the National Stroke Association, will take place at Long Hunter State Park on Saturday, May 5. This event is one of the only events in the U.S. solely focused on stroke survivors and education. All 14 Comeback Trail 5K events around the country aim to advocate for and empower the 7 million Americans who have survived a stroke, and encourage anyone affected by stroke to come back strong. For more information visit www.ComebackTrail.org

Registration is FREE for the event, but donations are encouraged. The event is nationally sponsored by Avanir Pharmaceuticals and Merz.

The Nashville Comeback Trail 5K is open to participants of all abilities and features different paths to accommodate stroke survivors and other attendees in various stages of fitness or recovery. Participants will have the option to complete a 5K trail or choose a shorter route. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by the opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m. The Comeback Trail event will begin at 9:15 a.m.

"The recovery journey that every stroke survivor goes through can be very personal and challenging," said Robyn Moore, CEO of National Stroke Association. "With these Comeback Trail events, we want each survivor to feel validated and empowered by their journey, while learning from the experiences of others."

All fees and donations support the National Stroke Association, the oldest national non-profit 100% dedicated to stroke. The National Stroke Association's mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke by delivering education and programs focused on prevention, treatment, rehabilitation and support for all impacted by stroke.
