NHC Execs Daniel & Swafford Announce Retirement

National HealthCare Corporation, the nation's oldest publicly traded senior healthcare company, recently announced that both Donald K. Daniel and Charlotte A. Swafford have informed the NHC Board of Directors that they plan to retire from their positions within the company effective Dec. 31, 2016.

Swafford will be leaving her position as senior vice president and treasurer, which she has held since 1985, and Daniel will be leaving his role as senior vice president & controller and principal accounting officer, a position that he has held since 1993. Swafford has been with NHC for 43 years, while Daniel has been with the company for 39 years.

The NHC Board has appointed Vice President of Treasury Jeffrey R. Smith to replace Swafford and Vice President and Assistant Controller Brian F. Kidd to replace Daniel at the beginning of 2017. Both Smith and Kidd have been trained and developed to move into their new roles as part of the company's succession planning.
