Nashville will remain in phase two of the reopening plan with the 14-day new case trend still in the yellow. Dr. James Hildreth called for protesters to get tested for the coronavirus, and Metro Health will increase focus, in conjunction with area non-profilt organizations including Siloam, to address the COVID-19 hot spot in the southeastern part of Davidson County.

Metro Nashville

At today's press conference, it was announced the city has 6,627 confirmed COVID-19 cases, an increase of 56 in the last 24 hours. There have been 80 deaths in Nashville, up from 72 at the beginning of the week. There are currently 1,437 active cases and 5,110 individuals who have recovered.

There have been 69,292 tests administered in Davidson County with a positive rate of 9.6% (up from 9.4% on June 1 & 9.2% on May 29).

Health officials reminded everyone of the importance of continuing to wash hands regularly, maintain social distancing, wear masks in public and stay home when possible in order to maintain the green status of key metrics that will allow reopening of the economy to continue. The mayor has repeatedly said the city would reverse course or stop progress on the staged reopening plan if the key metrics warranted such a move. Having the new case trends dip into yellow has been enough to keep the reopening plan from moving to phase three.

Tennessee State

As of this afternoon, the state has confirmed 28,340 cases of COVID-19 (up 471 since yesterday) and has recorded 441 deaths (up 20 since Monday). The death rate continues to hover at 1.6% of known cases. There are 2,011 hospitalizations across Tennessee (up 21 in 24 hours) and 18,922 recovered (an increase of 406 since yesterday). A total of 535,096 Tennesseans have been tested for COVID-19 (an increase of 6,461 since yesterday).
