Orthopedic surgeon Amanda Martin, DO, has joined Elite Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Martin specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, hip, shoulder and elbow of both adults and children. She has practiced orthopedic surgery for six years, mainly in Birmingham, where she also served as team physician for many high school and collegiate teams. In addition, Martin traveled internationally with the U.S. Women's National Soccer team program, and Major League Soccer (MLS). Since 2012, Martin has served as chair of the MLS Medical Symposium and Education Committee

Martin is fellowship trained in both orthopedic surgery sports medicine from the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham and in trauma from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
