New survey findings from Tivity Health compare 4,500 seniors' perceptions of COVID-19 vaccines before and after availability. Confidence in COVID-19 vaccines in our nation's seniors are increasing, but challenges in access continue. Key findings include:

  • More than 75% of seniors are willing to take the COVID-19 vaccine immediately (up from 47% in November)
  • Only 20% of senior respondents choosing to adopt the vaccine were less likely to do so if some people experience a major side effect(compared to 50% in November)
  • Only 22% believe they will have quick and easy access to a vaccine (compared to 39% in November)
  • For seniors who have received the vaccine, 45% agreed it was easy to register for an appointment

Full survey findings can be accessed here and was discussed in a webinar in early April that features Dr. Leana Wen, emergency physician and visiting professor of health policy and management at the George Washington University's Milken School of Public Health, Richard Ashworth, president and CEO at Tivity Health and Kristi Mitchell, Practice Director, Center for Healthcare Transformation at Avalere Health.
