Wash Tub Laundry - 2177 Nolensville Pike, Nashville, TN 37211
Current Initiatives (Current), is providing complimentary laundry services to lower-income residents at a local Nashville laundromat this weekend. The Laundry Project brings renewed hope to thousands of people nationwide by providing the funds and laundry items necessary to wash and dry clothes and linens. Laundry fees are paid while volunteers assist with laundry services, entertain children and create a caring space at the laundromat. This is Current's second project in Nashville and organizers are eager to continue to restore pride and dignity to communities nationwide.
Members of the community may also contribute by donating supplies including detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), one-gallon Ziploc bags, garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets.
With the average cost of eight loads of laundry nearing $35, many families are forced to choose between paying bills and washing their clothes. To ease this expense, Current hosts its Laundry Project to lift a burden many families experience regardless of location. In 2019, the projects positively assisted 2,540 families by washing and drying 28,230 loads of laundry for free.
Current Initiatives is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization incorporated in Florida that started with young adults committed to educating others on current social initiatives and mobilizing them to bring about change. Current establishes community groups for awareness and education and organizes local initiatives such as the Laundry Project, Hope For Homes Project and Affordable Christmas.
