Gibbs joined Nashville General Hospital as Chief Marketing Officer

Sherry D. Gibbs, MBA, joined Nashville General Hospital in the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer on June 15, 2020. She will be responsible for leading strategic marketing, corporate communications and brand management. A leader in healthcare, business development and brand strategy, Gibbs will work with Nashville General Hospital's executive team to develop new strategies, expand lines of revenue and help guide the hospital through its expansion of services. She brings a unique background of provider, payor and brand management expertise. Most recently, as VP of Marketing and Growth at GEHA (Government Employees Health Association), Gibbs led the nationwide strategic positioning of the $4 billion GEHA brand, including the launch of the successful Kansas City Chiefs partnership. Her 25 years of marketing experience, including 12 years in health care, will be instrumental as Nashville General Hospital pursues new growth strategies.

Prior to GEHA, Gibbs was the director of marketing at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and Public Information Officer for Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. Gibbs holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and earned an M.B.A. from Duke University.
