Mayor Barry Resigns

Nashville Mayor Megan Barry has officially resigned her post in the wake of the affair announced several weeks ago. She has pleaded guilty to 'theft of property charges' and agreed to pay back $11,000 to reimburse Metro Nashville for expenses incurred as part of the affair. Theft of over $10,000 is considered a felony charge. With the repayment, resignation and three years' probation without issue, she is eligible to have the criminal charge expunged from her record.

Vice Mayor David Briley will be sworn in as mayor later on Tuesday, March 6th.
