Nashville Entrepreneur Center Welcomes 2020 Project Healthcare Businesses

The Nashville Entrepreneur Center today announced its 2020 Project Healthcare Class - a group of entrepreneurs who are rising to the many challenges facing the healthcare industry.

Project Healthcare is Nashville's leading healthcare entrepreneurship initiative that brings together technology and business leaders from across the industry to drive transformation through tailored programming and meaningful connections. The year-long program provides teams with an immersive experience that connects entrepreneurs with the resources they need during all phases of the entrepreneurial life cycle.

The EC partners with the Nashville Health Care Council and others in the industry to identify challenges and opportunities that drive innovation and forward thinking. With this information, the team recruits and accepts applicants into the Project Healthcare cohort.

"Through listening closely to the business community, investors and entrepreneurs, it became clear that we all need to work closely to help Nashville be the best place to start and grow a business," said CEO Jane Allen. "We were amazed with the quality companies and entrepreneurs which made this a highly competitive process."

Because we now utilize the "Entrepreneurial Life Cycle" model, we are able to accept more teams into Project Healthcare. This year, we have thirty-one which is almost triple the traditional number.

"We are fortunate to work with industry experts and successful entrepreneurs who give their time to help the EC select and work with the Project Healthcare teams," said Chief Product Officer John Murdock.

This year's class is divided into "mini-cohorts" depending on what stage of traction they are at, and whether or not they sell a Device or Service.

"We find that the type of product or service drastically changes the types of resources, connections, and community needed to support each business, said Program Manager Jeremy Raley. "It is our goal to provide more specific support for each business."
