June 21: Lymphedema Encouragement Group Meeting At Tristar Stonecrest Medical Center

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center now offers a free quarterly Lymphedema Encouragement Group for individuals and their caregivers living with lymphedema.

"Lymphedema is an underdiagnosed disorder and can be very debilitating to all those who suffer from it," answered

Jennifer Baker, PT, CLT-LANA. "It is important to offer education and treatment to these individuals to help them manage their pain and symptoms now and throughout their lives."

The idea for the encouragement group started with requests from patients. Recognizing the opportunity to meet the needs of the patients within the hospital, Baker, a board certified and nationally recognized Lymphedema Therapist at Tristar StoneCrest Medical Center, volunteered to plan and coordinate the encouragement group. Along with physical medicine department colleagues Jill Brown, MSPT, CLT, and Missy Misenhimer, PTA, CLT-LANA, also a board certified and nationally recognized Lymphedema Therapist, Baker and the talented team of dedicated therapists are excited about the future of this encouragement group.
