Mental Health Support in the Aftermath of Middle Tennessee Tornadoes

Through May 1 ... On March 3, 2020, tornadoes devastated our Middle Tennessee community.

The Onsite Foundation has organized an effort of independent and licensed therapists to support Middle Tennessee residents who have experienced the unimaginable and unexpected loss of homes, businesses, and human life.

If you are in need of Crisis Support or Grief Counseling, please text 615-323-3191to be connected to a licensed therapist in your community to schedule an appointment.*

*Therapists are on a first come, first-serve basis. Services and support will be available until May 1, 2020. Up to three sessions per individual will be provided. The number of sessions needed will be determined by the referred therapist based on independent evaluation and assessed needs. All therapists are independent licensed therapists and are not employed by The Onsite Foundation. The Onsite Foundation is not responsible for the services rendered.


Cigna & the Cigna Foundation Help Those Affected by Nashville Tornado

Free help line open to all members of the community

March 4 - Global health service company Cigna (NYSE: CI) is taking steps to help people who were impacted by Tuesday's tornado in Nashville. Cigna is easing some health benefits plan and prescription requirements, and expanding access to a toll-free help line for people living in Benton, Davidson, Knox, Putnam, Shelby and Wilson counties.

  • Pharmacy: to ensure customers continue to have ready access to prescription medications, Cigna and Express Scripts have lifted prescription refill requirements in affected areas through April 2. This will allow those who suffered lost or damaged medications due to the tornado to get needed replacements quickly.
  • Urgent Care and Emergencies: Cigna will cover out-of-network claims as in-network for members needing urgent emergent care in the impacted area for medical, behavioral, dental and vision through April 2.
  • Free Help Line: in addition to providing a help line to customers, Cigna has opened a help line for everyone in the impacted community, even if they don't have Cigna coverage. The line is available at no cost at 866.912.1687 - 24 hours a day. It is staffed by qualified clinicians available to help callers cope with anxiety, stress or other issues.
  • Cigna's Disaster Resource Center provides a list of online resources for physical and mental self-care during challenging times. Resources are available in English and Spanish.

To further support those impacted by the tornado, the Cigna Foundation will be making a $75,000 donation to the American Red Cross, and up to a $25,000 match in employee contributions.

Tennesseans Impacted by Tornadoes Offered Free, 24/7 Online Healthcare

Amerigroup offers free, unlimited online medical and behavioral healthcare from LiveHealth Online to any Tennessean through March 31

-Amerigroup Community Care has made free, easy-to-access medical and behavioral healthcare available to all Tennesseans through LiveHealth Online following the devastating tornadoes that struck Middle Tennessee early Tuesday morning.

LiveHealth Online is a mobile app and website that provides consumers with a convenient way to have live video healthcare visits with board certified doctors and licensed therapists for non-emergency physical and behavioral health conditions. Amerigroup has made the service available for free to all Tennesseans through March 31, 2020, and may extend access beyond that date if needed.

Tennesseans can simply download the LiveHealth Online mobile app or visit the LiveHealth Online website at Tornado2020.startlivehealthonline.com from any webcam-enabled computer. After registering, people can access care by selecting:

  • "Help for Tennessee Medical" for immediate medical visits.
  • "Help for Tennessee Psychology" to schedule behavioral health visits.

"After so many lives were uprooted by the storms in Middle Tennessee, access to accustomed care providers may be disrupted for many people. So we are making online visits available immediately to people anywhere in the state," said Robert Garnett, Amerigroup Tennessee president. "I want to underscore that any Tennessean may access this care completely free of charge, not just Amerigroup members."
