Nashville officially moved into Phase 3 of the reopening plan this past Monday, with an expectation the city will remain in this phase for four weeks. During the week, the number hospital capacity for floor beds slipped from green to yellow. The transmission rate and 14-day new case trend, which were already in the yellow, remain there. Public health capacity, testing capacity and hospital ICU bed capacity remain in the green.

Metro Nashville

The city reported 8,876 confirmed cases today, a jump of 232 in 24 hours and more than 600 since Tuesday. There are currently 2,287 active cases in Nashville, 6,490 individuals who have recovered, and 99 deaths.

In Davidson County, 86,913 tests have been administered with a positive rate of 10.2% (up from 9.4% on June 1).

The mayor and health officials are still weighing making masks mandatory. One hesitation is enforcement. Currently, they've asked everyone to take personal responsibility to wear masks in public, continue social distancing measures, go out as little as possible, wash hands frequently and stay home if ill.

Tennessee State

The state saw its highest one-day increase over the past 24 hours, nearly doubling the number of cases reported the previous day. As of this afternoon, the state had confirmed 39,444 cases, an increase of 1,410 since yesterday. Tennessee has recorded 577 deaths (up 10 in 24 hours). There are 2,498 hospitalizations across Tennessee (up 67 in 24 hours) and 25,753 recovered (an increase of 473 in 24 hours). A total of 741,737 Tennesseans have been tested for COVID-19 (an increase of 14,469 since yesterday).

Statewide death rates, which had held steady between 1.6 and 1.7, have actually dropped over the last few weeks to 1.46.
