Metro Nashville returned to a modified version of Phase 2 of the reopening plan on Friday, July 3 as cases began to spike in the county.


Metro Nashville

Nashville reports 13,802 cases, a jump of 362 cases in 24 hours. There are currently 4,742 active cases in Nashville, 8,927 individuals who have recovered, and 133 deaths. There are currently 198 active hospitalizations, up 10 from yesterday.

In Davidson County, 118,578 tests have been administered with a positive rate of 11.6% (up from 10.7 on July 1 and 9.4 on June 1). Of note, however, the positive percentage is 16.2 of cases tested over the past seven days.

On the trend lines, the transmission rate and 14-day new case trend both remain in the red. Capacities for public health and testing remain in the green. Capacities for both hospital beds and ICU beds have slipped into the yellow.

Masks are required in Nashville, and a number of other surrounding counties have also begun instituting mandatory mask regulations. Additionally, public health officials continue to ask (beg) residents to be vigilant in maintaining social distancing measures, as well as to go out as little as possible, wash hands frequently and stay home if ill.


Tennessee State

The state added nearly 2,000 additional cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. There have now been 59,546 cases of the novel coronavirus confirmed statewide, an increase of 1,955 since yesterday. Of that total, 34,740 individuals have recovered (1,131 in the past 24 hours); there have been 3,146 hospitalizations (up 58 since yesterday); and the state has sadly seen 723 deaths (an increase of 13 in 24 ours). So far, there have been 994,114 tests for COVID-19 (up 21,838 since yesterday).
