It's a fact, more people die of lung cancer than any other form of cancer. That's why the American Lung Association in Tennessee is proud to host the 2018 LUNG FORCE Expo, during Lung Cancer Awareness Month. LUNG FORCE is a nationwide initiative led by the American Lung Association to unite men and women to stand together against lung cancer.

The LUNG FORCE Expo will feature the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung health for patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals, and will take place Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Omni Nashville Hotel, 250 Fifth Ave., Nashville, Tennessee.

Lung disease patients and professionals from Tennessee will gather to hear speakers from a variety of fields present current medical information on topics that have the most impact on those whose lives are touched by these conditions, as well as provide up-to-date medical information for healthcare professionals to help support patients.

Expo attendees will learn about Saved By The Scan, the first-of-its-kind campaign between the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE initiative and the Ad Council that aims to raise awareness of the benefits of lung cancer early detection through lung cancer screening. The campaign will drive high-risk individuals to talk to their doctor and visit SavedByTheScan.org to learn more and take a lung cancer screening eligibility quiz.

Topics for professionals run the gamut from lung cancer and asthma to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and more. Lung health professionals will also learn about the American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE initiative's and the American Thoracic Society's (ATS) new Lung Cancer Screening Implementation Guide. Continuing education credits available for nurses, respiratory therapists, and certified health educators.

This year's LUNG FORCE Expo keynote is Jeffrey S. Guy, MD, MMHC Vice President of Clinical Excellence and Vice President of Emergency and Critical Care Services for HCA Healthcare. Jeff has direct oversight of seven burn centers, 90 trauma centers, over 200 hundred emergency departments, approximately 400 intensive care units in HCA's network of hospitals.
