This week, we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of TriStar Skyline Medical Center. We would have preferred to celebrate this milestone with a community celebration, but COVID-19 has halted our event plans. Instead, we reflect on our noted history, vision for our future, and thanking those who have made this success possible.

When the hospital opened on September 20, 2000, 722 employees transitioned patients from Memorial Hospital. It was an exciting time for our community as the hospital opened to provide a new, higher level of medical care. Since that celebratory day, the hospital has grown into the comprehensive regional medical center it is today. The original employee team of 722 has grown to more than 1,500. The original staff of 300 physicians has grown to more than 800, providing expertise in more than thirty medical specialties. In its first year, the hospital admitted 7,516 individuals for inpatient services and treated about 37,549 in the ER. Today, we admit more than 17,000 individuals per year for inpatient services and provide emergency care for more than 60,000 patients annually.

As our hospital has grown, we have similarly grown in living out our mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. As we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of TriStar Skyline Medical Center, we applaud our past successes. We couldn't be more proud of the impact TriStar Skyline has made over twenty years or more excited for pursuing a shared vision of what we can accomplish in the future.
