Daphne G. David

Daphne G. David has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn. David previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer at HCA Healthcare's North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton, Colorado.

As CEO of TriStar Summit Medical Center, David will be responsible for operations at the 218-bed hospital and TriStar Mt. Juliet ER, a ten-bed freestanding 24/7 emergency room, and related care areas serving the communities of Davidson and Wilson counties.

"We are excited to welcome Daphne into the TriStar Health network. Her experience as a hospital leader, partnered with her focus on measurable improvements in growth, quality, people and finances, make her an ideal fit for this role," said Mitch Edgeworth, President of HCA Healthcare's TriStar Division. "I am confident that she will continue to build on the great legacy established by the physicians and staff at TriStar Summit Medical Center."

For the past four years, David led North Suburban through tremendous growth and fulfilled a great community need by becoming a Level II Trauma Center. She led multiple facility enhancements, including over $50M for infrastructure, technology and life safety systems. Under her leadership, the hospital also excelled in clinical quality and attained several quality recognitions from third-party organizations and achieved high physician engagement scores during her tenure. Additionally, she was named one of the 2021 Most Admired CEOs by the Denver Business Journal for her commitment to quality, workplace wellness, diversity, financial success and philanthropy.

"I am grateful to have joined TriStar Summit's amazing team of caregivers. I have had the honor of witnessing the compassion our colleagues portray to our patients and our community," shared David. "This team truly cares like family, as every patient is at the center of everything we do. I look forward to working alongside this team as we grow and continue the legacy of providing excellent care to our community."

David has been with HCA Healthcare for 22 years. Before joining North Suburban, she served as the Chief Operating Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer for HCA Healthcare's Orange Park Medical Center in Florida. David also served as the Chief Operating Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer at HCA Healthcare's Garden Park Medical Center in Gulfport, Mississippi.

David graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, Long Beach, Mississippi, with a Bachelor of Science degree and went on to earn both her Master of Science Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Master of Business Administration from William Carey University, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
