Waller Boosts National Healthcare Regulatory Practice with the Hiring of Former CHS VP and Associate General Counsel

Waller, a leading provider of legal services to the healthcare, financial services, retail and hospitality industries, has announced that veteran attorney Jesse C. Neil has joined the firm's national Healthcare Compliance and Operations practice as a partner in Nashville. Neil joins Waller after nearly a decade with Community Health Systems where he served as lead counsel for one of the company's three operating divisions.

"Our healthcare clients will benefit tremendously from Jesse's extensive experience providing day-to-day guidance to hospitals, clinics, and ancillary service providers throughout the country," said Colin H. Luke, who leads Waller's Healthcare Compliance and Operations practice. "He brings valuable firsthand insight into the challenges that providers face in an ever-shifting regulatory environment."

During his tenure at CHS, Neil collaborated with operational and clinical leadership to develop network alignment strategies by negotiating a wide range of transactions, employment agreements, and other contractual arrangements with providers. He also worked with a multidisciplinary team to manage the company's public policy advocacy strategy. In this role, he monitored federal and state policy developments and implemented engagement strategies with government and industry stakeholders.

Earlier in his career, Neil served as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Tennessee Attorney General. He led investigations into healthcare entities and pharmaceutical companies with respect to compliance with fraud and abuse statutes.

Neil earned his J.D., in 2004 from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he served on the executive board of the Mississippi Law Journal. He earned his B.A. in 2001 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Nashville native, Neil has served since 2012 on the Alumni Board of Montgomery Bell Academy. In 2016 he was appointed to the Davidson County Election Commission.
