Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital has received a $6 million donation from the Christy-Houston Foundation to be used for hospital expansions currently underway. The hospital recently began construction to expand the emergency department by adding a Clinical Decision Unit and announced a vertical expansion plan to add 72 medical patient beds. The gift from the Christy-Houston Foundation launches a 2018 fundraising campaign with the goal of supplementing the services provided by the upcoming hospital expansions.

Neighborhood Health recently received an operating grant in the amount of $63,000 from The Healing Trust to further the nonprofit's work to reduce racial, ethnic and income disparities in accessing high quality primary medical, dental and behavioral healthcare. Neighborhood Health operates 13 area clinics, including two that serve the homeless, along with two mobile medical units.
