In other Saint Thomas Medical Partners news, Joe Wandass III, MD, PhD, has joined the large regional medical group at the Lenox Village location in Nashville. Board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics, Wandass previously served as medical director for Medical Home Primary Care.

Prior to relocating to Tennessee, he was in practice in New York and also held the faculty post of clinical associate professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the State University of New York (SUNY) - Buffalo, which is where he also earned his medical degree and doctorate in chemistry. Before attending medical school, Wandass was appointed a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Naval Research Laboratory and also worked for the Dutch Chemical Company Akzo Nobel as a research scientist. A prolific author, he also holds a U.S. patent in magnetic sensor technology.
