HCA is in the process of purchasing Mission Health, a North Carolina-based nonprofit health system, for $1.5 billion. If the sale goes through after customary legal and regulatory requirements are met, it will extend the Nashville-headquartered company's presence to 21 states, in addition to facilities in the United Kingdom.

AxiaMed, based in California but with an executive office in Nashville, recently raised $12.4 million primarily led by Health Enterprise Partners from New York but also with funding coming from several other investors including Nashville Capital Network.

Brentwood-based Urgent Care Group recently acquired seven MEDcare Urgent Care clinics in South Carolina.

TwelveStone Health Partners, the chronic care medication services company based in Murfreesboro, has landed $4.3 million from Claritas Capitol. This second round of investment from Claritas will be used to fuel expansion efforts with its packaged pharmacy, infusion center and technology platform business lines.
