STMP Welcomes New Physicians

John Barr Biglane, MD

Saint Thomas Medical Partners (STMP) has recently welcomed several new physicians to several of the group's Middle Tennessee locations.

John Barr Biglane, MD, a cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, has joined Saint Thomas Heart. Double board certified, his clinical expertise includes mechanical circulatory support, ventricular assist devices, cardiomyopathies, and pulmonary hypertension. Biglane earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center followed by a second fellowship in the Division of Cardiovascular Disease at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans.


Nimal Patel

Gastroenterologist Nimal Patel, DO, has joined the DePaul location in Murfreesboro. Board certified in internal medicine with additional certifications in cardiac life support and basic life support, Patel earned his osteopathic degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed residence and fellowship at Larkin Community Hospital where he was named chief resident and chief fellow.


Sonali Sakaria, MD

Sonali Sakaria, MD, a gastroenterologist specializing in celiac disease and colon cancer, is practicing at both the Nashville and Franklin locations. Double board certified, she earned her medical degree from Indiana University and completed residence in internal medicine and a gastroenterology fellowship at Emory, where she spent more than four years on staff.


Ashley Terry, DO

Ashley Terry, DO, a board certified family medicine and primary care physician has joined the team at the new Bellevue location. A Nashville native, Terry earned both her master's in public health and her osteopathic degree from Nova Southern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
