Healthcare technology company Bridge Connector, which focused on improving interoperability and integration in healthcare, has announced the company will cease operations by the end of the year. The following is a statement provided to Nashville Medical News from company officials:

"After exhausting opportunities to secure additional investment, the board of managers of Bridge Connector has determined that it is necessary and appropriate to pursue an orderly wind down of the business by the end of the current calendar year. Employees of the company have been informed, and the board and executive management are working diligently with our valued customers and partners on transition plans to minimize disruptions and ensure that the integrations the company powers for them will continue to function. The board and executive management have expressed tremendous appreciation for the hard work of the employees and the work they have done to support healthcare organizations during this incredibly challenging and turbulent economy. The board of managers will continue to evaluate additional information and opportunities as they arise."
