As we reflect on this season of Thanksgiving, Ascension Saint Thomas expresses its sincere gratitude to the Ascension Saint Thomas Foundation and community donors for investing in the long-term health of our city with a gift of $15,000,000 to Midtown and West hospitals. With the help of our Foundation, the financial contribution has been earmarked for hospital initiatives that  allow us to continue serving patients in unique, innovative, and thoughtful ways.

It’s no secret that Middle Tennessee has a growing population with an increasing need for complex healthcare. Over the next three years, this generous donation will fund multiple projects at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown and Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital West that will suit specific patient needs. Some of those projects support oncology, the emergency department and mental health services.

At our West hospital, we care for a growing number of seniors.  We recently achieved accreditation as a geriatric emergency department. This special gift will allow us to continue to invest in expanding our emergency department space, improving efficiencies, and providing a higher level of quality care to this vulnerable population.

We also plan to invest in our West campus oncology program. This project is a thoughtfully designed space for patients and family members that creates enhanced privacy and a consumer-oriented experience that eases the often challenging journey of fighting cancer.

We are grateful to and inspired by our Foundation, board members, and the many community members who see the value in our vision for a transformed healthcare experience. With this gift, we are  able to make high-quality, high-value healthcare available for current and future generations of Middle Tennesseans.
