TriStar Hendersonville announces $80 million hospital expansion

HENDERSONVILLE – TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, is proud to announce an $80 million hospital expansion project. This project includes an addition of 32 inpatient beds for medical, surgical and telemetry services and renovation and expansion of support spaces.  

 

This 77,328 square feet hospital expansion will include addition of:

 

  • 24 medical, surgical and telemetry beds
  • Eight intensive care unit (ICU) beds
  • Expansion and renovation of laboratory, kitchen and cafeteria
  • A shelled space for future bed expansion

“The extensive hospital expansion will provide the communities we serve with additional access to the nationally recognized services we offer and prepare us for continued growth in the future,” said Justin Coury, chief executive officer at TriStar Hendersonville. “We will continue to invest in key medical services and facilities our neighbors need.”

 

This $80 million hospital expansion project marks the latest milestone of an extensive, nearly $136 million capital investment. As TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center approaches 45 years of providing top-quality healthcare services to Sumner County and its surrounding areas, the hospital has been steadfast in its commitment to advancing services to meet the needs of the surrounding community.

 

In addition to the $80 million announced today, TriStar Hendersonville completed or broke ground on projects totaling $56 million in 2022. Significant investments include:

 

  • Expansion and renovation of surgical services featuring two additional operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit bays and the latest robotic surgery equipment - $18.5 million
  • Launch of Emergency Room enhancement project, including patient room renovation and triage area expansion - $2.6 million
  • Imaging expansion and equipment upgrades, including a state-of-the-art hybrid coronary cath/electrophysiology lab, new MRI and addition of 3D Mammography at TriStar Women’s Imaging - $14 million
  • Launch of 24,000 square-foot Birth Center expansion project to add six birthing suites, four neonatal ICU rooms and an OB assessment area - $21 million (estimated completion in summer 2024)
