Michelle Stepp Named Alumni Relations Coordinator for WGU

NASHVILLE – Online, nonprofit Western Governors University (WGU) has announced that Michelle Stepp has been named alumni relations coordinator for the Southeast region.

 

In her new role, Stepp will facilitate connections and engagement among WGU graduates through events, communications, and networking opportunities. She will play a vital role in building a sense of community among former students while leveraging alumni resources for the benefit of current students and the institution.

 

“WGU’s alumni network is made up of accomplished professionals in all 50 states and around the world, including more than 56,000 in our region,” said Kimberly K. Estep, regional vice president at WGU. “Michelle’s background and experience will help strengthen relationships with our widespread alumni connections as we continue to work toward expanding our presence across the Southeast and beyond.”

 

Prior to joining the WGU team, Stepp served as the assistant director and associate director of Alumni Relations for 23 years at Middle Tennessee State University. While at MTSU, Stepp won two Communication and Marketing awards, as well as a Parthenon award.

Stepp holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky. She also serves as a council member for the Council of Alumni Marketing and Membership Professionals (CAMMP) and the Council of Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

 

WGU currently has more than 31,000 students and more than 56,000 graduates across its Southeast region, including more than 10,480 graduates in Tennessee.
