The Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) recently named Tennessee Oncology’s CMO Natalie Dickson, MD, a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS). Saint Thomas Rutherford (STR) Bariatric Center has met new, higher standards and received another accreditation as a Comprehensive Center of Excellence, making 2016 the seventh year the STR Bariatric Center has been accredited. Sumner Regional Medical Center has earned both The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers.

TriStar Summit Medical Center has been designated as a Pathway to Excellence® organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This designation demonstrates TriStar Summit’s commitment to creating a work environment where nurses can flourish. TriStar Summit is currently the only hospital in Tennessee to hold this designation and is one of only 139 hospitals designated nation-wide. To earn the designation, ANCC requires a healthcare organization demonstrate that it has integrated practice standards into its operating policies, procedures, and management structure. These standards focus on the workplace, a balanced lifestyle for nurses, and policies that support nurses on the job.
