On March 28, Nashville-based benefits brokerage and human resources (HR) software company Bernard Health wrapped up its first annual users conference for BerniePortal, its proprietary HR and benefits administration platform used by more than 75,000 people in all 50 states.

The conference, titled "Weekdays with Bernie," brought hundreds of business owners from across the country to Nashville from March 26-28, and was sponsored by industry giants Paycor, Guardian, Allstate Benefits, BenefitsGuide, Unum and more.

The three-day event consisted of BerniePortal training sessions and business insights from high-profile speakers and key industry leaders, including internationally recognized sales expert Jack Daly, Envision Healthcare's Ian Andes, author and founder of BetterBookClub and CJ Advertising Arnie Malham, ELAP Services' Woody Waters and Bernard Health and BerniePortal CEO Alex Tolbert. Notably, attendees had the opportunity to provide direct input for BerniePortal's product roadmap and help decide what the company's top priorities should be going forward.

"The future of human resources and employee benefits is online," said Tolbert. "This conference was an opportunity for our users to hear from experts in the field to learn how to comprehensively meet clients' benefits and HR needs and move their businesses forward. At the same time, we had the chance to hear from clients and gather valuable feedback as we seek to grow and improve online benefits solutions. We're already looking forward to next year."
