PhyMed Adds Noted Physician Executive to Board

Last month, Nashville-based PhyMed announced the addition of Samuel R. Nussbaum, MD, to the company's board of directors. Nussbaum has extensive expertise across the spectrum of healthcare. From 2000 to 2016, he served as EVP, Clinical Health Policy, and CMO for Anthem. Prior to that, he was EVP, Medical Affairs and System Integration for BJC Healthcare. The endocrinologist was also a professor at Harvard and physician at Massachusetts General Hospital for 20 years and has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the "50 Most Influential Physician Executives in Healthcare." Nussbaum currently serves as a member of the Guiding Committee of the Learning and Action Network, a public-private initiative established by the Department of Health and Human Services, and chaired its work group that developed the framework for alternate payment models to enhance patient-centered care and smarter health care spending.
