An authority on magnetic resonance imaging, Awh was a founder in 2001 of Radsource, a joint venture between United Surgical Partners International and Imaging Specialists. Under Awh's oversight the company, which partners with clients to increase diagnostic capabilities and streamline image archiving and communication, has become a leader in subspecialized MRI interpretations to the outpatient orthopaedic and neurological markets. Previously, Awh served as director of MRI at Saint Thomas West and as president of one of the nation's largest private radiology practices. He is a frequent speaker at national radiology meetings and has authored numerous scientific articles and texts.
