Sara Jo Walker, a Nashville native, public relations professional and mother of two young children today announced the launch of her first book, "Let's Talk About Masks."

This honest and straight-forward children's picture book introduces the concept of wearing masks to young readers and highlights the many well-known careers that require face coverings. This educational book serves as a helpful conversation starter for parents and helps to normalize masks.

Walker, who worried how her own two children would react to so many people wearing masks as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, wrote this book to help guide conversations with them. She quickly realized how helpful this book could be for all parents with young children.

"Life has changed as we know it, and whether we like masks or not, they are all around us these days," said Sara Jo Walker. "As our cities, schools and businesses begin to open back up, I want our children to be prepared for what they will see as they re-enter the world."

The book seeks to remove the "scariness" of masks and shows how everyday people and superheroes wear masks. It also shows children how they can become a hero in their own communities.

"It's my hope that 'Let's Talk about Masks' can provide children with clarity and parents with a little comfort as they have tough conversations with their children during this time of uncertainty," said Walker. "While I initially wrote this for my own children, I'm thrilled to be able to share this with other families."

"Let's Talk about Masks" is available for sale this week at Amazon and Barnes and Noble and will be in stores soon. You can also visit: https://letstalkaboutmasks.com/.
