Meharry Medical Group alum Carlton Z. Adams Jr., MD, has rejoined the active medical. Adams is a board-certified general surgeon whose practice emphasizes endovascular, wound care and general surgery procedures. He was recently recruited back to the Department of Surgery as chairman of the department after a brief departure last year.
A native of California, Adams received his medical degree from Howard University, College of Medicine and completed his residency at Meharry Medical College. Adams was the very first Vascular Fellow at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
"Working to create opportunities and reconstruct mission values in the surgery department is an invigorating challenge," said Adams. "I love approachable challenges, especially in surgical healthcare and education. To be privileged to engage that challenge along with the entire Meharry family exceeds all the professional victories that have blessed my career."
