Brock is professor of urologic surgery and pediatrics at Vanderbilt. In 1992, he became the director of the Division of Pediatric Urology and was named surgeon-in-chief in 2002. Brock is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons and the Society for Pediatric Urology. He is past president of the Society for Pediatric Urology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.
